Study of the U.S. Institutes Programs
The Study of the U.S. Institutes programs are administered by the Fulbright Finland Foundation.
The Study of the U.S. Institutes (SUSI) for Secondary School Educators are designed to strengthen curricula and improve the quality of teaching about the United States in secondary schools and other academic institutions. The Institutes will take place over the course of five weeks during the summer months.
The Study of the United States Institutes for Scholars and Professionals are intensive, post-graduate level academic programs with integrated study tours whose purpose is to provide university faculty, scholars, and other related professionals the opportunity to deepen their understanding of American society, culture, values, and institutions. The goal of these programs is to strengthen curricula and to improve the quality of teaching about the United States in academic institutions.
The U.S. Embassy in Finland and the Finnish National Agency for Education continue their longstanding collaboration to strengthen and increase student, teacher, and administrator mobility between Finland and the United States through a new program called the Transatlantic Classroom.
The Transatlantic Classroom program between upper secondary schools in Finland and the United States supports small-scale projects, including virtual cooperation and/or short exchanges, to increase the internationalization efforts of participating schools as well as develop critical competencies, such as English language skills.
The application must be sent by the municipality representing the upper secondary school(s).
