The U.S. Embassy Helsinki had the pleasure of congratulating the 2017 Future Leaders participants at the U.S. Embassy Innovation Center on May 19, 2017.

The U.S. Embassy Helsinki expresses their gratitude to the partners within the Future Leaders program – AFS and the Finnish National Agency for Education.

The Future Leaders program takes 15 young Finnish 16-17 year-old students to the U.S. for six weeks to learn about different aspects of leadership. The students participate in workshops, projects and visits regarding topics such as entrepreneurship, innovation, and active citizenship. The students also get to learn about everyday life in an American host family.

The U.S. Embassy Helsinki has been running its successful youth exchange program since 2011. The Future Leaders program, heir to the Young Ambassadors Program, is now organized the second time. More information about the exchange programs is available on our website.
