Helsinki Book Fair Oct 25-28, 2018

The United States is proud to be the featured theme country at the 2018 Helsinki Book Fair!

Three prominent American authors will visit the book fair and the U.S. Embassy exhibit will feature programs that showcase a diverse range of authors and topics.

Jennifer Clement, President of PEN International, will appear on the main stage, present at PEN Finland’s panel discussion, and visit the U.S. Embassy exhibit for interview. Clement will also talk about her new book” Gun Love” (2018), and discuss press freedom and human rights issues.

Other visiting American authors include Patricia Lockwood, who Rolling Stone magazine described as “The Poet Laureate of Twitter,” and Cecilia Samartin whose latest book “Beauty for Ashes” is a story about friendship, hope and survival in context of human trafficking.

The U.S. Embassy exhibit will feature the collection “50 States, 50 Books” which will reflect the uniqueness of each and every state in the union. The exhibit’s program will also include visiting pundits and interesting panel discussions.
