Ambassador Oreck Visits the Schildt Upper Secondary School (Home to the Winners of the Ambassador’s Entrepreneurial Challenge!)

U.S. Ambassador Bruce J. Oreck visited the Schildt Upper Secondary school in Jyväskylä on March 5, 2015. He discussed entrepreneurship and future global challenges with the students. The visit was a follow-up to the Ambassador’s Entrepreneurial Challenge (AEC), which brought students from all over Finland to Helsinki to pitch their business ideas.

U.S. Special Arctic Representative Admiral Papp Visited Finland

U.S. Special Representative for the Arctic Admiral Robert J. Papp visited Finland from January 22-25. In Helsinki he emphasized the importance of U.S.-Finnish cooperation on Arctic Issues, especially given our countries’ upcoming back-to-back chairmanships of the Arctic Council, during a panel discussion hosted by FIIA.

Ambassador Oreck Opens Discover America Pavilion at Travel Fair

Ambassador Bruce Oreck on January 15 opened the Discover America Pavilion at Nordic Travel Fair 2015. After the ribbon-cutting the Ambassador greeted the exhibitors at the pavilion. The annual travel fair gathers together industry professionals and travel aficionados at Expo and Convention Centre Helsinki. This year the fair is themed “Where the Whole World Meets.”
