The latest round of negotiations for a U.S.-Finland Defense Cooperation Agreement were held in Helsinki, Finland, October 30-31, 2023.

The United States Embassy in Helsinki welcomes the completion of the latest round of negotiations related to the U.S.-Finland Defense Cooperation Agreement (DCA).  The DCA will establish a robust framework for our already deep bilateral security cooperation and reflects the close U.S.-Finland security partnership and our shared commitment as NATO Allies to Transatlantic security.  Once concluded and ratified by Finland’s Parliament, the DCA will help our countries continue to work together to strengthen our bilateral cooperation and NATO operations.

America’s alliances are a tremendous source of our strength.  The DCA highlights the close partnership between the United States and Finland, and reflects the U.S. commitment to strengthening our alliances with democracies around the world to advance our shared security and prosperity.
