On July 24th, Future Leaders summer program grantees from the U.S. and youth alumni from Embassy youth programs gathered at the Embassy’s Innovation Center for an energy and conservation-themed youth seminar. Three guest speakers, Jouni Nissinen, Steven Vanholme, and Karlina Ozolina, generated a lively discussion and interesting questions related to current issues. The youth seminar gave the American students and Finnish youth program alumni a chance to get to know each other and to engage on interesting topics related to leadership and active citizenship. The U.S. Embassy Finland would like to thank our partners, AFS Finland and the Finnish Association for Nature Conservation, for their contributions to making the event such a success!

The Future Leaders program brings American 16-17 year-old students to Finland for six weeks to learn about different aspects of leadership. The students participate in workshops, projects and visits regarding topics such as entrepreneurship, innovation, and active citizenship.
