Award-winning writer, TV producer, documentarist and – above all – storyteller, William Doyle took us behind the scenes of his hit 2014 PBS documentary film U.S. Navy SEALS:  Their Untold Story at a public lecture at Kaisa Library on October 28, 2015. The audience heard firsthand stories of his acclaimed books and about the process of turning them into popular documentaries.

William Doyle is currently in Finland as a Fulbright Scholar, teaching at the University of Eastern Finland and learning about the Finnish education system. His latest book, PT 109: An American Epic of War, Survival, and the Destiny of John F. Kennedy, was just published.

And what is Doyle’s secret for aspiring documentarists?  Pick a great topic, then research, research, and do more research!
